Warnings When Using Optilast Eye Drops

Do not use Optilast Eye Drops if you are allergic to azelastine hydrochloride or any of its ingredients.

  • Consult your doctor before using this medication if you have any eye infections, injuries, or surgeries.
  • Remove contact lenses before applying the eye drops and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them.
  • Do not use Optilast Eye Drops during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless advised by your doctor.
  • Do not touch the dropper tip to any surface to avoid contamination.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

How to Use Optilast Eye Drops

  • Wash your hands thoroughly before using the eye drops.
  • Tilt your head back slightly and pull down the lower eyelid to create a small pocket.
  • Hold the dropper above the eye and squeeze one drop into the pocket. Do not touch the dropper tip to your eye or any other surface.
  • Close your eye and gently press the inner corner of the eye for about one minute to prevent the drop from draining into your tear duct.
  • Repeat for the other eye if necessary.
  • Use Optilast Eye Drops twice daily or as directed by your doctor.
  • Do not use the drops more often than prescribed.

Each ml of Optilast Eye Drops contains:

  • 0.5 mg of azelastine hydrochloride

The other ingredients are:

  • Benzalkonium chloride (as a preservative)
  • Disodium edetate
  • Hypromellose
  • Sodium hydroxide
  • Water for injections
