How to Take Sumatriptan

  • Take Sumatriptan orally as directed by your healthcare provider, at the onset of a migraine attack.
  • Swallow the tablet whole with water. Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.
  • If your symptoms improve but return after 2 hours or longer, you may take a second dose as directed by your doctor. Do not exceed the recommended dosage in 24 hours.
